Travertine is a universal solution for the interior and exterior public and common-use places that became standard in a number of countries. PHOMI MCM Travertine is a great substitution of the natural travertine due to its natural deposits depletion. In addition PHOMI Travertine can offer additional colors, patterns, glitter shade from chrome-blue to golden, features and possibilities where the use of the common travertine is impossible, difficult or very expensive.
For example, you want to create some travertine columns at home. Instead of bringing the carved, heavy and extremely fragile during the transportation natural travertine columns, simply do the following: create a base out of the common materials (like wood, metal or stone) and apply PHOMI Travertine on it. The seam at the back of column cover with the grout of the closest possible color to the tile, mixed with the thin particles obtained of the same PHOMI Travertine tiles. Your guests will be delighted with look of the columns and will not guess so easily this is not a natural slab. In addition, let’s say if your column will get dirty for some reason, you can simply change that contaminated tile. Imagine if this would happen to a real slab.
And, yes, the total price of PHOMI Travertine variant would be approximately 20% of the original column cost.
Installation
The product has inherited the cavities from its natural counterpart. That is why we recommend to use the similar or nearest possible adhesive color in case it will become visible through the occasional halls. In case of the floor application we recommend 3-4 sealant layers for the dirt resistance. In case of the wall application you can add 1-2 sealant layers for the better shine.
Texture:
The product has inherited the “sandy” surface texture from its original. Normally this product is used as the wall cladding (both exterior and interior).
Installation:
Grouting: we recommend to use the similar, nearest possible or contrast color for the joints to create the best visual effects.
In case of outdoor installation: as for any kind of outdoor cladding we recommend to use high-quality flexible adhesive.
Seam: for the outdoor use we recommend to leave 2 mm seam between the tiles. In case of the interior use, when during the cladding exploitation period the temperature fluctuations are minimal, any type of adhesive, magnetic stripes or double-layer adhesive tape is applicable and the seam is not mandatory.
Maintenance:
During the outdoor use the product shows good self-cleaning capacities. In case of strong contamination, the high-pressured pure water cleaning (similar to the car washing jet) can be applied. The use of detergent additives is solely on the risk and discretion of the client. The re-new of the sealant layers may be required depending on the floor usage and your sealant quality. In case of the surface treatment by the sealant, the conventional “wet”maintenance can be applied.
